It is very difficult to show the variation in slabs through small samples in a showroom, so we are arranging for customers to visit the wholesaler’s yard to choose their material. This ensures that the customer is 100% happy with their final choice. Alternatively, there is the option to choose from the comfort of your own home with postal samples*. Postal samples usually arrive within 2-3 days.

*Samples are not an exact replica of the stone however they are a good representation. Max 3 samples per customer.

The Journey

The customer travelled from Oxford to Kent to choose his own material. When visiting the wholesaler he viewed several new colours not yet featured on our website. By visiting the wholesaler he was able to select his material and make his reservation with Granite4YOU. It was worth the journey and there were no unexpected surprises on the day of installation as he had selected the slabs himself.

This customer had used us previously in the past for a similar job. The previous job also had natural oak beams so he was confident throughout the process that we could achieve the finish he required.

The Granite Installation

The first part of the job was to conduct a digital template. This allowed us to determine the outline sizes, and position of the cut outs. Due to the variance in the timber beams, we handcrafted the beam cut outs onsite for a bespoke finish. When working with not one, but TWO natural products we were concerned regarding the tolerances of both materials. However the fitters managed to wrap the granite skilfully around the beams as seen above.

Allocating additional time to provide a one day installation on such a complex job. The time of completion was 7.30pm on a Friday evening. Thanks to the sheer dedication of our teams we achieved fantastic results!

We believe the success of our granite installations is due to the pride taken in our work. (Hence the extensive portfolio of completed jobs!)

Concluding we have a fantastic finish and a BEAMING happy customer, What more could we want?!

To help you check whether your kitchen is ready for granite templating please read the guidelines below:

1. Base units must be installed, aligned, level and fixed to the wall.
2. Any panels must be fixed in place.
3. Any existing worktops must be removed beforehand.
4. Sinks/hobs must be onsite but not connected.
5. Belfast/Butler sinks need to be fixed in place.
6. If you have a range cooker this will need to be in place so we can template up to it.
7. Any appliances/features that require a cut out in the worktop will need to be presented to the templater.
8. The kitchen must be clear and tidy so that the templater has a safe environment in order to conduct an accurate template.
9. You or a representative will need to be present to instruct the templater and sign the template paperwork.
   
   

Please find below examples which may help you decide if your kitchen is ready or not. If in doubt please contact us for advice.

Kitchen Example 1 – This Kitchen is ready for granite templating, all units are in, fixed and level. The kitchen area is cleared for the templater leaving space for him to work his magic and create the granite worktops of your dreams.

Kitchen Example 2 – This Kitchen is NOT ready for templating. The range is not in place, units are not all installed and it is congested with various items.

If your kitchen looks like Kitchen Example 2, it is not ready for a template, the visit will be abandoned and a revisit charge incurred.
We would prefer to do just one visit and get the best results from your template visit so to avoid any issues please ensure your kitchen is in the same state as Kitchen Example 1.
